Scholarships
Since 2005, the foundation has grown “permanently designated” and “board designated” scholarships to assist students. Ongoing scholarships are given semi-annually and annually.
Judge Sol Blatt Jr. Library Research Scholars Program
The foundation created the Judge Sol Blatt Jr. Library Research Scholars program from a gift donated by an anonymous donor in 2017 naming five annual grantees who are library scholars for one full year. Scholars work at the research desk to assist both students and S.C. Bar Association members who come to our library for research assistance. Scholars are trained in law research to not only assist students but also teach them how to navigate the library stacks.
Financial Hardship and Emergency Fund
In furtherance of its charitable purposes, the Charleston School of Law Foundation, Inc. (“Foundation”) operates a Financial Hardship and Emergency Fund (“Fund”) designed to help enrolled students of the Charleston School of Law who are facing unexpected and desperate financial events. The Fund may provide short-term financial assistance for essential needs including housing, food, and medical care when the criteria established by the Foundation are met. Read more
